Trainee Commis Chef, Full time 40 hrs/week
We are looking for a driven and motivated trainee Commis chef to work in our kitchen alongside our kitchen team. The right candidate will want to pursue a career in hospitality, develop their skills and advance up the ranks. In this role you will have the opportunity to learn and progress in an exciting and fast paced environment. You will need a can-do attitude, the drive and determination to excel, and be able to work under pressure in a professional kitchen.
Main Responsibilities:
- To prepare food to a consistently high quality in line with menu specifications
- To suggest daily specials incorporating seasonal ingredients
- To input into the writing of menus for all food out lets with regular reviews.
- To assist with training and development of all departmental staff
- To liaise with Head Chef and Sous Chef to ensure exceptional service levels are consistently delivered to guests.
- To accept and check deliveries from agreed suppliers to ensure that they are to the specification requested.
- To ensure all equipment is maintained in a clean working condition
- To input into the compilation of and work within the agreed departmental budget
- To maintain hygiene standards in areas of responsibility
- To monitor stock levels within own department and order using the correct procedures
- To monitor stock rotation.
